Los Angeles, CA (AHN) - Kevin Rose, co-founder of popular online news community site Digg, said that iPhone maker Apple is preparing to launch an iChat application that will bring video chat feature to the upcoming 3G-capable iPhones. Basing his statements on his unnamed sources, Rose made his predictions on an online show Diggnation, which he hosts with Digg co-founder Alex Albrecht. Wired.com reported that according to Rose, the new-version iPhones will come with two mounted cameras, situated at the back of the device as where it currently is, and at the front, behind the transparent touch-screen. The cameras, when activated via an iChat application, will allow for video conferencing via 3G data network. This will work for iPhone-to-iPhone conferencing, as well as for iPhone-to-computer. The development of this new technology, reported AfterDawn.com, is the reason why Apple has been actively restricting the development of third-party application developments.
