Herndon, VA (AHN) - U.S. domain name seller and registration company Network Solutions has censored the promotional website of a 15-minute film that attacks the religion of Islam. The website, reserved by Dutch lawyer and filmmaker Geert Wilders, was taken offline after the company reportedly received complaints about the offensive nature of the film, entitled "Fitna" - an Arabic word that indicates faith in hard times. The film described the Islam religion as "the enemy of freedom" - a statement that has gotten even Dutch officials worried about possible violence, similar to the results of the controversy surrounding Dutch newspapers' publication of an illustrated depiction of the Prophet Muhammad. The company said that it would continue with an already ongoing investigation on the film's nature, in regard to the company's Acceptable Use Policy, which according to News.com.au disallows material used for harassment, threats, and hate propaganda. Wilders also reportedly intended to depict the Koran, the Islamic counterpart of the Christian bible, as a "fascist book" - a claim that has already incited angry comments from a number of Islamic countries. Wilders announced that he planned to release the film in full, by the end of the month. He insisted that his film, despite its nature, will not break any Dutch laws.
