Ontario, Canada (AHN) - The Ontario Flower Growers Cooperative launched on Thursday a website and a new brand for its fresh-cut blooms. Jouke Sypkes, general manager of the cooperative, said coming out with a brand aims to assist flower buyers identify the best fresh-cuts available in the market. The brand has a green and yellow logo with a floral image. Underneath the bloom is the tagline, "Always in season". The cooperative will launch the brand at Loblaws outlets across Ontario. More information about the province's florists and their products are available at the newly launched website, which includes floral design trends, home entertainment and decoration tips, a flower care manual, discounts and even competitions. The cooperative also launched on Thursday the "Always in Season" contest with floral books as prizes. The cooperative began in 1972 and now counts more than 100 greenhouses and flower farmers in Ontario. Meanwhile, aside from the Ontario Flower Growers Cooperative, other Canadian florists has tapped the internet to market their blooms. Aquilifer of Ontario, after it found out how profitable it was to specialize in creating websites for floral growers, shifted gears from just selling PCs into designing webpages for florists. Speaking from a 10-year experience, the owner of Aquilifer wrote at its own website, "We have found that those who achieved the greatest success were those who were receptive to advice, and who made the commitment to creating a real web presence. Others seemed to feel that a website was a necessary evil like a flu shot, and never understood that it could be one of the world's best business builders and order generators."
