Tiapei, Taiwan (AHN) - High Tech Computer announced Touch Diamond, a new version of a smartphone meant to compete with Apple's iPhone. The new Windows Mobile-based Touch sports GSM network support, a 2.8-inch display and 4 gigabytes of storage. HTC CEO Peter Chou told the Wall Street Journal the hardware maker sold three million copies of the first version in 11 months. HTC also said it plans to unveil a phone using Google's open-source Android software during the second half of 2008.
