New Delhi, India (AHN) - Finnish cellphone maker Nokia announced the release of the Nokia 8800 Sapphire Arte, a luxury handset for the Indian market. The model ireportedly represents a fusion of functionality, design, and simple elegance. The Nokia 8800 features a 3.2 MP autofocus camera with 8x digital zoom, a 2-inch OLED display, anti-fingerprint coating to prevent smudging, 3G capabilities, and 1 GB of storage. It will also feature a light sensor that automatically alters and adjusts screen brightness. Unique features of the handset include a real sapphire gemstone, makeup of glass and high-end metal, and a brown napa leather. The phone also allows users to switch to silent mode simply by turning the device over, screen face down. A price for the Indian market, as well as tdate of availability, wasn't announced.
