Redmond, WA (AHN) - Microsoft is reportedly "biding its time" and unwilling to up the ante in its bid to acquire Yahoo. The move is seen as a tactic to get Yahoo back to the bargaining table. On Feb. 10, Yahoo rejected Microsoft's $44 billion offer as undervaluing the Internet company. "There's no reason to bid against ourselves," The Wall Street Journal quoted a Microsoft insider. Microsoft is also unlikely to quickly offer up its candidates to campaign for membership on Yahoo's board of directors. Faced with a potential Microsoft assault, Yahoo lengthened the time it will allow nominations. The report suggests Microsoft's decision not to immediately follow up with a larger offer could be because of discussions Yahoo has had with Time Warner and News Corp seeking an alternative to Microsoft.
