Sunnyvale, CA (AHN) - Yahoo Tuesday added its name to Google's OpenSocial program, designed allow applications run on differing Web sites. The OpenSocial, which also claims MySpace as a member, targets Facebook which only allows applications that conform to their closed development platform. The initiative also announced opensocial.org, a Web site created as a spot where developers and others can learn more about the program. On July 1, the organization will be formalized, including oversight of intellectual property.
