Ankara, Turkey (AHN) - YouTube has removed several clips which had prompted the Turkey government to block the Google-owned Internet video site. YouTube told the AP it took the action after finding the videos violated the company's content rules. Earlier this month, a Turkish court approved a government request to ban YouTube, after several videos appeared to insult Mistafa Kemal Ataturk, the country 's founder. Such insults are unlawful in Turkey. YouTube's latest action is a repeat of past confrontations with Turkey. In those case, removing the offending videos had resulted in Turkey dropping its ban of the popular video site.
