Market experts predict that software giant Microsoft will eventually raise its $31 per share bid for Yahoo as it attempts to wrestle away market share in the lucrative online search market from chief rival, Google. Despite Yahoo's rejection of Microsoft's initial offer, analysts from Citigroup Investment Research said that the company will most likely succumb and agree to a merger.

Technology research firm Gartner has lowered its projection of PC sales for 2008, predicting 10.9 percent growth rather than 11.6 percent rise announced in December. Laptops and emerging markets are expected to be key to PC growth.

4)   Canadian Campus Launches Mobile Phone Emergency Alert Service
Dalhousie University launched on Monday a mobile-phone based text alert system to warn students, faculty and staff of campus emergencies such as shoot-outs, fire or a chemical spill. The newly launched text messaging service will complement seven other alert systems which includes emails and the old-fashioned bullhorn.

5)   Study: 50% Of Mobile Phones Music Capable By 2011
A study predicts that half of mobile phones will be musical by 2011. The predictions by MultiMedia Intelligence, state that while the phone sales after three years will stay at 941 million, half of those units will catering to the trend of mobile music technology.
