TorrentSpy, the BitTorrent search engine which was fined $30,000 after losing a lawsuit brought by the Motion Picture Association of America, has closed its doors. In December a Los Angeles judged ruled that TorrentSpy destroyed evidence in copyright infringement lawsuit.

YouTube Yanks Offensive Turkish Videos
YouTube has removed several clips which had prompted the Turkey government to block the Google-owned Internet video site. YouTube's latest action is a repeat of past confrontations with Turkey. In those case, removing the offending videos had resulted in Turkey dropping its ban of the popular video site.

Yahoo Messenger Beta For Mac Adds Voice, 2GB File Transfer
The newest release of the Yahoo! Messenger beta for Mac users now comes with VoIP services, which will allow Mac users to converse via voice, from one Mac to another. The new service will allow Mac users with Yahoo! Messenger accounts to send voice messages to the people on their friends list. The addition will also allow for SMS sending, via the computer. All of these services will come free of charge.

YouTube Unleashes Viewership Analysis Tool
Online video sharing site YouTube formally announced Wednesday a new free feature that provides posters with more in-depth information about their videos' viewership rates. The feature, aptly called YouTube Insight, shows a more detailed view of the number of viewers a video is getting, as well as the timestamps and geographical locations within the United States of the video's viewers.
