Sky Commander - Are you accustomed to using Windows Explorer, but want to have more powerful file management features characteristic of file managers of the Norton Commander type? The new file manager Sky Commander combines the simplicity of Windows Explorer and the power of Norton Commander!
In the first place, the program was designed as a file management tool for users who do not have a lot of experience working with the computer, but whose needs are constantly increasing. The program uses a two-panel design that earned its reputation back at the time of Norton Commander. You do not need any special training to be able to work with the program - any user can easily learn how to work with Sky Commander.
Among others, the program has the following main features:
Supporting popular archives (zip, rar, ace, tar, gz, cab). Zip archives are supported completely and you can create your own archives.
Four modes for viewing files - Details, List, Icons, Thumbnails.
Internal FTP client.
File search tool.
Multi-rename tool.
Safe deletion tool excluding the possibility of recovering files with special software.
Tool for splitting large files.
Internal text, binary and hexadecimal editor.
Internal image viewer.
Smart tooltips.
Minor, but important features include the following: repairing damaged zip archives, viewing/editing archive comments, testing archives, batch extraction, changing file attributes, statistics about files in folders, more than 90 commands all in all.
Additional features:
You do not have to learn from scratch how to use the program. Sky Commander supports Windows(R) Explorer hotkeys, selecting files with the mouse and the drag & drop technology. All long operations are carried out in a separate thread and you do not have to wait until a long operation is over in order to start a new operation.
